A perfect concoction for when you’re on the go, this green avocado smoothie is gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free. So many superfoods packed into the blender makes for a nutritious meal for anyone who’s cut for time.
Not to mention, it’s sweet! Are you having trouble getting your kids to eat their greens? They will never notice the spinach and avocado in this drink. This smoothie has so many nutritious benefits as well as a satisfying taste. Even my Energy Boosting Oatmeal Berry Breakfast Smoothie has been a total success for early mornings!
The key to this smoothie recipe is the sweetener. There is no sugar added! The great thing about this recipe is that you can use any natural sweetener you’d like; dates, raw honey, pure maple syrup, the list goes on.
I almost always use almond milk for my smoothies. Otherwise, coconut milk is the other option. You can also use soy milk for a vegan, dairy free alternative.
The berries have antioxidants that will give you a rejuvenating glow, and keep you looking young! The smoothie will give you energy and kickstart your metabolism.
I always use frozen mixed berries. They last long in the freezer and they’re a great option for when you don’t live close to a grocery store. That’s why we buy a lot of frozen fruits and veggies which have no preservatives.

Healthy Green Avocado Smoothie:
- 1 small avocado peeled and pitted
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 handful of baby spinach or kale
- ½ cup of frozen berries
- 1 cup almond/coconut milk
- 1 tsp of honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- Mix in a blender until smooth.
- Garnish with whole almonds.
*You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy blender. My classic beehive blender does the job for me and I love it!
