On Friday, a good friend of mine and I took all four of our toddlers to a water park with a playground right beside it. It was going to be a long, hot day and I wanted to be prepared the best way possible.
Speaking of water parks, another one of our all-time favourite summer activities to enjoy with the family is strawberry picking at the farm. It’s very inexpensive and always memorable.

It was about 29 degrees with somewhat of a breeze, making anywhere with shade a perfect cool-down spot for us moms and the kids. We set up our picnic area under a tree nearby and let our littles ones run free and enjoy the refreshment that the splash pad had to offer.
Just like at a beach, toddlers need to stay hydrated. It’s a good idea to bring an umbrella if there are no signs of shade around!
What to pack:
I made sure to pack spray-on sunscreen, sun hats, lots of water, watermelon, snacks, pool diapers, towels, and a change of clothes. Whew!
You will also need water and snacks for yourself! Don’t forget that you need mostly everything the children do. They’re counting on you to last all day with them!
I had to be careful with my 1 year old, making sure to follow right behind her and keep an eye out for the bigger kids running around with water guns that could have knocked her over. Water shoes with rubber soles were a must to prevent slips and falls.
The day will be a success as long as you’re prepared! It’s always best to write a list of what you need and pack the night before. You’ll be too busy dancing around the house getting them in their bathing suits the morning of!
I hope this helps you get organized for a fun-filled day with the kids. Always keep an eye on them and be mindful during any outing!
